Auto back up servers to FTP/Amazon Glacier

Hi everyone,
Looking for someone who can help me automate backups in a smart way. I have several Debian Linux servers (web, database etc.) and right now I'm using this shell script: what it does is pack stuff into an archive and upload it to the FTP server.
Problem is it doesn't track free storage space on that server, and when it runs out, the backups are failing. To make it work, I have to delete the old files once in a while, and I want that handled automatically.
What I need: make the script keep a specific number of files and delete the rest. For example, 48 latest hourly backups, 14 daily backups, 6 monthly backups. Here's what needs to be configurable:
  • Retention settings (the numbers right above)
  • Multiple backup jobs: the files and folders to back up
  • Storage server and folder
Additionally,
  • Okay solution: continue using good old FTP as a storage platform
  • Ideal solution: do all this on Amazon Glacier: it's a cheap yet reliable cold storage service
You can update the above script on Github. If this can't be done using Bash/Shell scripting, Python is an option too.
If interested, please let me know what would your bid be. I'm happy to pay directly to your Czech bank account. I will also need an invoice. Thanks for reading!
